Strengthening a partnership built for the future

On the evening of July 14, 2026, the French Residence in Rabat became the stage for a historic gathering. Among the over 1,500 attendees were leading figures from Morocco’s government, including Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, who represented the Moroccan administration alongside Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni.

Ambassador Philippe Lalliot and his wife, Laurence Folliot Lalliot, welcomed the guests to what he described as a moment to celebrate a “refounded” alliance—one that is balanced, modernized, and focused on mutual progress.

In his speech, Lalliot emphasized the enduring friendship between the two nations, calling it a shared heritage that must be nurtured and expanded. He declared, “This friendship is our collective legacy. It is our responsibility to keep it alive, to cultivate it, and to help it flourish for generations to come.”

Morocco’s vision of progress and shared ambitions

Reflecting on his time in the Kingdom, the Ambassador highlighted Morocco’s proactive approach to building a sustainable future. From Rabat to Casablanca, Tanger, Marrakech, and Laâyoune—where he recently inaugurated the city’s first Alliance Française—he noted a consistent theme: “Here, we do not merely speak about the future; we build it, day by day.”

The event was attended not only by high-ranking Moroccan officials but also by diplomats from various accredited foreign missions, underscoring the international significance of the partnership.

A night of diplomacy and culture

The celebration continued with a performance by the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by a set from DJ Retro Cassetta, blending cultural heritage with contemporary energy.
