Ivorian PM kicks off investor-focused PND 2026-2030 consultative session in Abidjan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 – The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, was officially launched on Thursday at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

In his opening remarks, the Head of Government emphasized the significance of this gathering as a pivotal moment for mobilizing private investment to drive Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious development agenda. “Today marks another milestone in this consultative process, centered on fostering enterprise, investment, and value creation,” he stated. “I am pleased to highlight that over 700 investors from friendly nations have joined us for this critical discussion.”

The event drew a strong turnout from business leaders, entrepreneurs, and private sector representatives who traveled to Abidjan to engage in high-level dialogue. The Prime Minister underscored the importance of this platform as both a bridge for collaboration with the private sector and a means to align shared visions for national progress.

“Your presence here reflects the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory and its growth potential,” he told the audience. “As key partners, your contributions are essential in turning our vision into reality—building a more competitive economy that generates quality jobs and sustainable opportunities. The success of this plan hinges on your willingness to invest in our future.”

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He pointed to the country’s proven economic resilience in recent years, citing an average annual growth rate of 6.5% amid global volatility, which has solidified its standing among Africa’s most dynamic economies.

“This is a market brimming with potential,” he declared. “Today’s engagements will fast-track investments in the PND’s priority sectors—particularly industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, the expansion of critical infrastructure in transport, digital technology, and logistics to enhance competitiveness, and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services that will propel our economy toward greater productivity and inclusivity.”

He also noted that the first day of the consultative group, focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, had already seen participation from over 3,000 delegates representing 49 countries.

On behalf of the investor community, Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM) and head of its Africa Committee, and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s leadership. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the implementation of the PND 2026-2030.
