Ivorian prime minister urges private sector investment at 2026-2030 development forum

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the Consultative Group for the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, dedicated to investors, was inaugurated today at the Abidjan Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

The Prime Minister opened the session with a strong call to action for the private sector, emphasizing the critical role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious development agenda. « This gathering marks a pivotal moment in our shared journey toward economic transformation, » he stated. « We have welcomed over 700 investors from friendly nations, all eager to contribute to our vision of sustainable growth and value creation. »

The government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the engine of economic progress was a recurring theme. Prime Minister Mambé highlighted Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years as proof of its dynamism amid global challenges. « Investors, you are not just partners—you are the driving force behind our ambition to build a more competitive, job-creating economy, » he told attendees.

The Prime Minister outlined key priorities for the PND 2026-2030, stressing the need to accelerate investments in industrialization, local raw material processing, and infrastructure—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics. « Today’s discussions will unlock opportunities in sectors critical to our development, » he said. « From human capital investment to innovation-driven services, every commitment strengthens our economy’s productivity and inclusivity. »

The first day of the forum, focused on institutional partners and development strategy presentations, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire. The second day’s focus on investors underscored the government’s strategy to leverage private capital for tangible progress.

In a show of solidarity, leaders from Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector and international business delegations reaffirmed their confidence in the Ivorian government’s vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and representatives from France’s MEDEF and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030. « We are ready to play our part in turning this plan into reality, » they affirmed.
