Ivory coast prime minister rallies investors for 2026-2030 development plan

The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, focused on attracting investors, kicked off in Abidjan on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire. Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé led the event, bringing together over 700 investors from friendly nations to boost the national economy.

«This marks a pivotal step in our consultative framework, dedicated to private investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation,» declared the Prime Minister. «We are thrilled to see more than 700 investors participating from across the globe, demonstrating their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s growth potential.»

The gathering, attended by business leaders, private sector investors, and key economic stakeholders, served as a vital platform for dialogue. Mambé emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration in shaping a shared vision for the country’s future development.

«Your commitment is a testament to the trust you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic outlook and its capacity for sustainable growth,» he noted. «You are instrumental in realizing our goal of building a more competitive and job-creating economy. The success of this ambition hinges on your willingness to invest in key sectors.»

The Prime Minister underscored the government’s resolve to position the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He highlighted the nation’s economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a performance that places it among Africa’s most dynamic economies.

«To investors, this is an economy on the rise—a market brimming with opportunities,» he stated. «Today’s discussions will accelerate investments in the PND’s priority areas, including industrialization, local raw material processing to enhance value addition, and the expansion of critical infrastructure in transport, digital technology, and logistics. These efforts will enhance our competitiveness and appeal while fostering human capital development, innovation, and essential services for a more productive and inclusive economy.»

Mambé also recalled that the first day of the consultative group, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including local stakeholders.

In response, key investor representatives reaffirmed their backing for the government’s vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Africa Committee of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030 implementation.
