Ivory coast prime minister rallies investors for 2026 development plan

The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, was launched on Thursday in Abidjan at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire. The event, chaired by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, brought together over 700 investors from friendly nations to fuel the country’s economic momentum.

The Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private investment in turning Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions into reality. « This new phase of the Consultative Group focuses on investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation, » he stated. « We are pleased to welcome more than 700 investors who have traveled from afar to join us in this pivotal discussion. »

The gathering served as a platform for dialogue between government officials and private sector leaders, fostering a shared vision for the nation’s growth. « Your commitment alongside us reflects the trust you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and its growth prospects, » the Prime Minister told attendees. « You are key partners in building a more competitive, job-creating economy. »

Prime Minister Mambé highlighted the government’s resolve to position the private sector as the main driver of economic transformation. « Côte d’Ivoire’s economy has shown remarkable resilience and adaptability, » he noted. « With an average growth rate of 6.5% in recent years, it stands among the continent’s most dynamic economies. »

Investors were presented with a rapidly expanding market brimming with opportunities. The day’s activities were designed to fast-track investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including:

  • Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost added value
  • Development of strategic infrastructure, particularly in transportation, digital technology, and logistics
  • Investment in human capital, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy

The Prime Minister also recapped the first day of the Consultative Group, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy. That session drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire itself.

Leaders from the private sector echoed the government’s optimism. Speaking on behalf of investors, Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their confidence in the Ivorian authorities’ vision. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030’s implementation.
