Ivory Coast’s prime minister rallies global investors for 2026-2030 development plan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, exclusively focused on investors, kicked off today at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

The event, which drew over 700 investors from allied nations, marks a pivotal moment in mobilizing private sector resources to drive Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious growth agenda. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of this platform as both a dialogue forum with the private sector and a catalyst for aligning collective development visions.

Investors as key partners in economic transformation

With a strong turnout of business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, Robert Beugré Mambé underscored the critical role of private investment in translating Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision into reality. He highlighted the nation’s demonstrated economic resilience and adaptability, noting an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, positioning it among Africa’s most dynamic economies.

The Prime Minister reassured participants that the government is prioritizing the private sector as the engine of economic transformation. He outlined key investment opportunities across sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization and local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, strategic infrastructure development in transport, digital technology, logistics to bolster competitiveness, and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.

The first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including the host nation.

Global investors pledge support for Côte d’Ivoire’s growth vision

Leaders from prominent business organizations echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Speaking on behalf of investors, Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), alongside Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and Vice-President of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s development trajectory. They expressed readiness to commit substantial financial resources to support the PND 2026-2030 implementation.
