Laurent Gbagbo introduces collective leadership at PPA-CI helm
Following his re-election as President of the Parti des Peuples Africains-Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI) in May 2026, Laurent Gbagbo has restructured the party’s leadership. On August 10, five key figures were appointed to strategic roles, shifting from an initially planned single-delegation model to a broader collaborative governance structure.
Assoa Adou has been named First Vice-President, tasked with overseeing political alignment within the party. Hubert Oulaye takes on the role of Second Vice-President, responsible for internal party affairs and presiding over Central Committee meetings. Emmanuel Ackah, former ambassador, assumes the position of Third Vice-President, focused on party mobilization.
Justin Katinan Koné continues to lead the PPA-CI’s general policy strategy, while Sébastien Dano Djédjé has been appointed Chair of the Strategic and Political Council, a newly created body to supervise the party’s activities.
