In a significant step toward strengthening regional cooperation against corruption, Hicham Balaoui, Morocco’s prosecutor general at the Court of Cassation and head of the Public Prosecution, engaged in a high-level working session on July 9 in Rabat with Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, Chad’s inspector general of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority.
The meeting, part of an official working visit, focused on exchanging Morocco’s proven strategies in combating corruption, both in prevention and enforcement. During the discussions, Balaoui outlined the key pillars of Morocco’s anti-corruption framework, highlighting the nation’s robust legal and institutional structure as well as the proactive criminal policy spearheaded by the Public Prosecution.

The exchange also delved into comparative best practices, with both sides examining successful models from different jurisdictions. The Chadian delegation gained firsthand insights into several groundbreaking initiatives launched by Morocco’s Public Prosecution, including a dedicated hotline for reporting corruption and embezzlement, designed to provide citizens with a direct channel to voice concerns.
Additionally, the delegation explored the e-TABLIGH digital platform, an innovative online tool enabling secure reporting of suspected corrupt acts. The system leverages cutting-edge digital technologies to ensure confidentiality and streamline complaint processing, fostering greater public trust in anti-corruption mechanisms.
