Olympique de Marseille are preparing to sell Mason Greenwood to balance the books, with AS Roma among the clubs interested after qualifying for the Champions League. The French side hope to secure at least €50 million from the deal, though a portion will go to Manchester United. Italian media, however, suggest Roma believe they can secure the forward for less.

OM set €50m price tag for Greenwood
Marseille are counting on the sale of Mason Greenwood to generate funds, with Atlético Madrid, AS Roma, and Fenerbahçe all tracking the English striker. The club has set a minimum price of €50 million. “Many suitors think OM will drop the price this summer because the club is forced to sell players,” a source close to the Marseille board said recently. “But they are wrong—there are too many symbolic and financial stakes in this deal.”
Roma believes OM will cave
Italian circles remain convinced that Marseille will eventually lower their demands. Friday’s reports indicate that AS Roma is confident of completing the transfer of Mason Greenwood for €40 million plus bonuses. The pressure is on the Phocaean club, as France’s financial watchdog DNCG has requested additional information from Marseille before making its decision.
At what price will OM sell Greenwood?
Will Olympique de Marseille agree to sell Mason Greenwood for less than €50 million, as Roma’s directors anticipate? Some observers consider the current price already reasonable. “I see other prices being set in Europe today. Honestly, a player capable of scoring around 20 goals each season in Ligue 1 for that amount—it’s a bargain,” said journalist Karim Bennani recently. “If I were OM, I would have had a clause to raise it to €60 million on July 1 and wait a little longer to find a buyer.”
