The Attorney General of the King at the Court of Cassation and head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Hicham Balaoui, held a working session on Thursday, July 9, in Rabat with Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, the Inspector General of Chad’s Independent Anti-Corruption Authority. This meeting was part of a working visit aimed at exploring Morocco’s expertise in preventing and combating corruption.
Strengthening frameworks for ethical governance
During the meeting, Hicham Balaoui outlined Morocco’s key anti-corruption framework, highlighting the legal and institutional mechanisms in place. He also discussed the penal policies enforced by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to address corruption-related offenses. The discussions included a comparative analysis of best practices in corruption prevention and enforcement, fostering a deeper understanding of effective strategies.
Digital tools and citizen engagement
The Chadian delegation gained insights into several initiatives spearheaded by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Among them was a dedicated hotline for reporting corruption and extortion, designed to streamline the process for citizens. Additionally, the delegation explored the e-TABLIGH digital platform, a secure reporting tool that enables individuals to file complaints about suspected corrupt acts. The platform leverages cutting-edge digital technologies to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of each report, reinforcing trust in the system.
