The European Union’s newly appointed ambassador, Amador Sanchez Rico, formally presented his credentials to Chad’s President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno in a solemn ceremony held on May 19.
The event took place at the Palais Toumaï, attended by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, in charge of African Integration and Chadians Abroad, Fatimé Aldjineh Garfa. The European diplomat was accompanied by Sona Jarosova, Head of the Political Section, and Karl Rawert, Head of Cooperation for the European Union Delegation in Chad.
This formal procedure marks the official beginning of the ambassador’s three-year mandate in Chad.
The presentation of credentials signifies not only the strengthening of bilateral relations between Chad and the European Union but also demonstrates a shared commitment to fostering mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at delivering tangible benefits to the Chadian people.
