Niger Seeks Closer Cooperation on Resource Governance
Niger’s Permanent Representative to the UN has called for closer international cooperation on governance and management of natural resources, in an effort to prevent conflicts over them.
Niger’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Alhaji Sida Mahamadou, said that the country is committed to strengthening its partnership with the international community on issues related to resource governance.
Mahamadou emphasized the importance of ensuring that natural resources are managed in a transparent and accountable manner, in order to prevent conflicts over them.
He also stressed the need for greater international cooperation on issues related to resource governance, in order to address the root causes of conflicts over natural resources.
Niger’s Position on Resource Governance
Mahamadou said that Niger is committed to playing a constructive role in the international community on issues related to resource governance.
