Niamey, June 4, 2026 — The Prytanée Militaire de Niamey (PMN) shone a spotlight on its brightest students during a prestigious awards ceremony marking the close of the 2025-2026 academic year. Held under the patronage of Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Salaou Barmou, the event celebrated the outstanding academic achievements of the school’s children of troops.
The ceremony honored students who topped their classes from sixth grade through to twelfth grade. By recognizing their hard work, commitment, and discipline—core values instilled at the PMN—the school’s leadership emphasized the importance of perseverance in shaping well-rounded, future-ready graduates.
Attended by high-ranking officials including members of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP), the vice president of the Council for Consultative Refoundation (CCR), diplomatic and consular representatives accredited to Niger, the Governor of Niamey, defense and security officials, as well as parents and guests, the event underscored the PMN’s role as a beacon of academic and moral excellence in Niger.

The top performer in the lower secondary cycle achieved an impressive 18.55 out of 20, while the highest achiever in the upper secondary cycle secured a remarkable 17.44 out of 20. These results highlight not only the dedication of the students but also the exceptional guidance provided by the school’s teaching staff and leadership.
