At the heart of Dakar, the Pastef party headquarters buzzed with energy this past Saturday as Ousmane Sonko, the party’s leader, addressed a sea of dedicated members during a membership card sales campaign. The event drew an unprecedented turnout, underscoring the growing momentum behind the movement.
With palpable enthusiasm filling the air, Sonko announced that the initiative had already generated over 160 million FCFA in contributions—an impressive figure that highlights the party’s expanding grassroots support.
Taking the moment to celebrate the collective effort, Sonko praised the unwavering dedication of his supporters. In a powerful statement in Wolof, he declared, « Dolé gi Pastef am, Pastef sax xamuko. »* Translating to a call for resilience and unity, the phrase encapsulated the party’s vision and the solidarity of its members.
