Ndiaga Seck, a well-known political figure, was taken into custody on Friday amid allegations of serious misconduct, following his mention in a separate ongoing investigation involving another suspect.
Speculation linking his case to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko’s inner circle immediately surfaced after journalist Madiambal Diagne suggested a possible connection. However, this narrative has been strongly disputed.
Cheikh Bara Ndiaye, a prominent member of parliament, has forcefully rejected what he describes as a calculated attempt to tarnish reputations. He praised Ousmane Sonko’s leadership, highlighting the Prime Minister’s insistence on allowing judicial processes to unfold unimpeded and without external influence.
Currently being held in police custody, Ndiaga Seck is expected to appear before the investigating judge in Linguère on Monday, where further legal steps will be determined.
