Even though the majority deputies had secured a parliamentary victory for Pastef by approving the constitutional revision bill with 129 votes, the final word has now come from the Presidential Palace, completely transforming the situation. According to revelations made by Justice Minister Me Moussa Sarr, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has opted against initiating the promulgation process for the text as it emerged from the National Assembly.
