Prime minister pays courtesy visit ahead of popenguine pilgrimage

Dakar — In a gesture of goodwill ahead of the upcoming Marian pilgrimage in Popenguine, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko paid a courteous visit to Monseigneur André Guéye, Archbishop of Dakar, this afternoon.

The meeting unfolded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, fostering genuine dialogue between the two leaders. Central to their discussion were pressing national priorities: fostering peace, strengthening social cohesion, and nurturing a culture of togetherness across Senegal.

The Archbishop took the opportunity to offer prayers for a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Senegal as the country prepares for the annual religious gathering in Popenguine, which draws thousands of Catholic pilgrims each year.
