PSG accelerates pursuit of Maghnes Akliouche as AS Monaco prepares a favorable transfer offer

In recent hours, Paris Saint-Germain appears to have intensified its efforts for the transfer of Maghnes Akliouche, who could potentially replace Lee Kang-In amidst his anticipated move to Atlético de Madrid. The capital club, which had already shown interest last summer, might even receive a pleasant surprise in this matter, as AS Monaco is reportedly set to demand a significantly lower transfer fee compared to a year ago.

This summer, PSG aims to continue its transfer market strategy, focusing on acquiring promising young French talents. Within this framework, the opportunity to sign Maghnes Akliouche has re-emerged in recent days. Already a target last summer, the French international remains firmly on PSG‘s radar, with the club reportedly deciding to accelerate negotiations as Lee Kang-In‘s departure to Atlético de Madrid becomes increasingly likely.

AS Monaco poised to lower Akliouche’s valuation

Indeed, PSG has seriously reignited its pursuit, and developments could now unfold rapidly, partly due to the excellent relationship between the Parisian management and AS Monaco. Crucially, while the Monégasques were reluctant to part with Maghnes Akliouche last summer, they had set a very high asking price, demanding €70M for his transfer. This situation has reportedly shifted considerably, as ASM is now understood to be under pressure to sell players and therefore cannot maintain such lofty demands, especially with Akliouche‘s contract expiring in 2028. The exact sum Monaco expects is not specified, but it will undoubtedly be substantially less than the €70M requested last summer.

Akliouche prioritizes World Cup before discussing future

However, even though this deal appears to be progressing swiftly between PSG and AS Monaco, Maghnes Akliouche recently expressed his desire to await the conclusion of the World Cup before addressing his future. “Will the next step be a transfer this summer? Yes, but honestly, I am truly focused on this World Cup. I know anything can happen, even during the competition. It’s a major showcase, but I remain concentrated on the national team’s objectives. I also don’t want to disrespect my club by discussing the transfer market now. There are other matters to manage,” he conveyed.
