Rabat recently served as the distinguished venue for the 2026 Morocco-India Economic Forum, an event meticulously organized by the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services (CCISRSK) in close collaboration with the Indian Embassy in the Kingdom and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
This significant gathering brought together a formidable Indian delegation, comprising 21 top executives from leading enterprises across various strategic sectors. During the forum, Hassan Sakhi, the President of the CCISRSK, underscored the profound and enduring friendship that has historically bound Morocco and India. He emphasized how this deep-rooted relationship has progressively transformed into a robust, diversified, and continuously expanding economic partnership.
In a statement delivered on his behalf, Sakhi highlighted that a series of high-level ministerial initiatives and significant memoranda of understanding (MOUs) sealed between Morocco and India in crucial strategic domains vividly illustrate the vibrant political rapport between the two nations.
He further noted that the presence of an Indian business delegation, featuring leaders from diverse sectors such as automotive, agriculture, information technology, healthcare, and energy, clearly signals the escalating interest Indian stakeholders are showing in the dynamic Moroccan market.
The vitality of bilateral exchanges between the two countries is particularly evident in the substantial volume of their economic trade. Sakhi reiterated Morocco’s firm commitment to further amplify this momentum, acknowledging India as a pivotal commercial ally possessing extensive technological and industrial expertise.
Mohan Puri, who led the CII delegation, expressed his conviction that both nations possess the inherent capacity to forge a formidable trilateral partnership encompassing India, Morocco, and the wider African continent. He specifically lauded the Kingdom’s substantial potential and remarkable capabilities.
Puri enthusiastically highlighted the myriad opportunities Morocco presents, particularly in burgeoning fields such as renewable energies, green hydrogen, aviation, defense, and digital technologies. He stressed that Morocco offers an ideal platform for businesses from both countries to initiate a range of innovative projects and advance technological development.
The forum’s proceedings featured an insightful institutional video showcasing the economic strengths and investment prospects within the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. This was complemented by a detailed documentary on Morocco’s business environment and the latest updates to its investment charter.
A pivotal moment of the event was the formal signing of a memorandum of understanding, designed to invigorate commercial exchanges, boost investments, and deepen industrial partnerships specifically between India and the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.
