Chad and Central African Republic strengthen border security with joint forces

The military authorities of Chad and the Central African Republic are stepping up efforts to enhance security in vulnerable border areas. A coordination meeting led by Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor assessed recent joint operations and identified key security challenges along the shared frontier.

Key outcomes of the Tchad-RCA security summit

The high-level gathering brought together senior military officers from both nations to review progress under operations Al-Hamamia 1 and Al-Hammia 2. Discussions highlighted operational successes while addressing persistent threats in certain border communities.

New security measures for border protection

Military leaders approved an enhanced deployment strategy under the proposed Sentinelle mission. This initiative will deploy additional military units equipped with fixed and mobile surveillance outposts along the frontier. The enhanced presence aims to:

  • Strengthen monitoring of suspicious movements across the border
  • Improve rapid response capabilities for joint forces
  • Deepen cross-border security cooperation between Chad and CAR

Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor emphasized that these measures will better safeguard border communities and effectively counter emerging security threats in this critical region.
