Senegal’s Ousmane Sonko Takes on Constitutional Council
The leader of Pastef, Sonko, has accepted the ruling as “a decision that must be taken by everyone in Senegal.
“Beyond the comments and opinions raised by the motivations cited, one thing remains: this decision must be taken by everyone in Senegal! We accept it!”, Sonko said in a statement.
For the president of the National Assembly, this sequence reminds us that “when institutions play their role, no crisis can arise”
Sonko also reaffirmed the parliament’s commitment to continuing its work. “The National Assembly will continue to exercise its mission fully: laws will be passed or rejected in honor of this brave and worthy people”, he assured.
