N’Djamena, Chad — A pivotal meeting wrapped up in N’Djamena today as high-level representatives from government, the United Nations system, development partners, civil society, and the private sector convened to assess progress and set the stage for future collaboration.
The gathering, co-chaired by Tahir Hamid Nguilin, Minister of State for Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation, alongside Dr. François Batalingaya, UN Resident Coordinator, served as both a review of the 2024-2026 United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and a launchpad for discussions on the 2027-2030 framework.
The session underscored the deepening ties between Chad and the UN, with Tahir Hamid Nguilin highlighting the strategic importance of aligning international support with national priorities. He emphasized that through the Chad Connexion 2030 National Development Plan, the government is prioritizing resilience, inclusivity, and prosperity by focusing on human capital development, climate adaptation, good governance, youth employment, and women’s empowerment.
