World Vision Tchad has unveiled its ambitious National Strategy for 2026-2030, marking a significant step forward in improving the lives of children across the country. The strategy was officially presented during a high-level press conference held in N’Djamena, bringing together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities.

Under this new roadmap, World Vision Tchad aims to impact the lives of 3.29 million children, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable, by 2030. The approach integrates humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding efforts to address the multifaceted challenges facing children in the region.

Carla Dominique Denizard, Regional Director for West Africa at World Vision, described the strategy as bold and innovative. She emphasized its foundation in the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, a framework designed to bridge emergency responses with long-term development and peacebuilding initiatives. « Children in Tchad deserve more than survival—they deserve to thrive, » she stated, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural integration in achieving these goals.
Denizard also underscored the broader challenges facing the region, including insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change, and mass displacement. World Vision’s approach seeks to tackle these issues holistically by combining immediate humanitarian assistance with sustainable development and peacebuilding measures.

The strategy is designed to align with key continental and international frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13 and 16), and Tchad’s own Vision 2030. Priorities include strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection, adapting to climate change, improving education through the Unlock Literacy program, and safeguarding children’s rights.

He noted that the new strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to the previous cycle, with a clear goal: ensuring every child in Tchad not only survives but thrives.
« Our mission is simple yet bold: reach 3.29 million children by 2030, » Wangoy explained. He also highlighted the pressing challenges facing the country, including persistent poverty, malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and the impacts of climate change. With nearly 42% of the population living below the poverty line, intensified efforts are critical to support the most vulnerable communities.
