At Cameroon’s National Assembly, Secretary-General André Noël Essian formally installed over 20 high-ranking officials appointed by President Théodore Datouo.
Following the opening of the second ordinary session of the 2026 legislative year, Secretary-General André Noël Essian presided over the installation ceremony for more than 20 senior officials appointed by President Théodore Datouo.
These high-level appointees were assigned to key roles within the Assembly’s quorum and secretariat services. With their installation complete, they have officially assumed their responsibilities within the national representation body.
Since assuming office as President of the National Assembly in March, Deputy Théodore Datouo has made numerous appointments. However, these decisions have sparked controversy, with critics arguing that the new leadership has failed to ensure regional balance in its selections.
