Political analyst Jean Paul Ntsengue has issued a stark warning, arguing that poverty in Cameroon is being deliberately engineered by unscrupulous individuals to control and exploit the country’s youth.
Ntsengue denounces those who ‘organised poverty’
In a strongly worded statement, Ntsengue pointed fingers at what he described as “irresponsible embezzlers of public funds, corrupt politicians, and men with excessive ambitions.” He claims these actors have created conditions that worsen poverty, leaving young people hungry and vulnerable to manipulation.
“Poverty is a fatal danger for the republic,” Ntsengue wrote. He accused the same group of blocking anyone who might have assisted President Paul Biya in his duties, instead promoting mediocre individuals loyal to them.
Ntsengue expressed confidence that divine justice would prevail, saying “God is never distracted.” He urged support for President Biya, whom he described as a providential leader, in what he called the “second half without extra time” of his tenure.
The analyst’s remarks come amid ongoing debates about youth unemployment and political manipulation in Cameroon. His call for unwavering support for Biya underscores the delicate balance between criticism and loyalty in the country’s political landscape.
