The accord was inked during a high-level gathering presided over by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Minister of National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi, in the presence of top-ranking military officials.
The Moroccan delegation was led by Nickolay Mladenov, the High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, underscoring the Kingdom’s pivotal role in this international initiative.
Commitment to peace and regional stability
According to a statement from the National Defense Administration, this signature reinforces Morocco’s status as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council, echoing the Royal vision articulated during the council’s inaugural session in Washington. The Kingdom’s participation underscores its unwavering dedication to fostering peace, cooperation, and global solidarity.
Moroccan authorities emphasized the extensive experience of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) in United Nations-backed peacekeeping operations, reaffirming the country’s longstanding commitment to international stability. Officials from the Gaza Peace Council commended Morocco’s proactive stance, which includes the deployment of senior FAR officers within the ISF’s joint command structure. Additionally, the Moroccan contingent will feature personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN), alongside the establishment of a field military hospital.
