Paris Saint-Germain has made its first summer move official by selling Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan. This departure has forced the Parisian club to search for a new center-forward, and they are reportedly considering Folarin Balogun.
As expected, Gonçalo Ramos has signed with AC Milan. PSG confirmed the transfer in an official statement. “After three seasons at Paris Saint-Germain and winning no fewer than 12 trophies, including two consecutive Champions League titles, Gonçalo Ramos joins AC Milan on a permanent transfer,” the club said. The Portuguese striker has committed to the Italian side until 2031, leaving a void that PSG now aims to fill.
Psg considering Balogun
According to reports, PSG has activated a surprising lead. The Parisians are interested in Folarin Balogun. Last season, the AS Monaco striker was the top scorer in Ligue 1 with 19 goals in 43 appearances. The American international is also impressing during the World Cup he is playing on home soil with the USA. Luis Campos and his team are said to appreciate the 24-year-old’s profile, particularly his solid Ligue 1 experience from stints at Reims and Monaco.
As Monaco open to selling
So far, PSG has not made any concrete moves, but if things progress, AS Monaco is unlikely to block Balogun’s sale. The club faces financial difficulties after failing to qualify for the Champions League. Balogun is one of three players Monaco has placed on the market, alongside Lamine Camara and Maghnes Akliouche—the latter also being tracked by PSG. The capital club could potentially make a double swoop in Monaco, but Tottenham and Chelsea are also in the race for Folarin Balogun.
