In line with the Head of State’s five-year mandate, the General Secretariat of the Government organized a technical validation workshop this week to assess a two-year progress report. The event, which runs from June 2 to June 5 in N’Djaména at the Radisson Blu Hotel, brings together officials to review achievements and challenges from May 2024 to May 2026.
Focusing on accountability and citizen trust
Dr Ramatou Mahamat Outouin, the Minister Secretary-General of the Government, opened the workshop by stressing that this gathering is more than a procedural review. It represents a critical moment for evaluating the government’s fulfillment of its commitments to the people of Chad. “This is not just about examining a document,” she stated, “it’s about collectively measuring our progress toward the goals set by President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno.”
The Minister highlighted the President’s vision of transforming public action and strengthening proximity to citizens’ needs. She emphasized the importance of transparent governance, noting that public trust in institutions is a cornerstone of effective leadership. “Behind every statistic and indicator, there are dedicated individuals who have worked with diligence and humility,” she acknowledged, honoring the teams responsible for compiling the report.
Challenges and expectations
Dr Ramatou Mahamat Outouin made it clear that this exercise is not about self-congratulation but about honest reflection. “We are here to understand, not to award praise,” she said, urging participants to critically assess both progress and obstacles. She pointed to the diverse expectations of citizens—farmers, teachers, entrepreneurs—and stressed that government efforts must directly benefit the population.
The Minister concluded by framing the workshop as both a technical and human endeavor. “This report must reflect an accurate reality—the progress made and the work that remains,” she said, officially launching the review process. The four-day session will serve as a platform for constructive dialogue on how to improve public service delivery and address unmet needs.
