Kumasi, Ghana, became the focal point for regional solidarity and patriotic engagement from November 27 to December 1, 2025, as it hosted the inaugural international leg of the Caravane nationale de l’engagement patriotique (CNEP). Organized by the Contribution du peuple pour l’éducation et la santé (CPES) association, this groundbreaking initiative arrived just ahead of the 2nd edition of the Kumasi Patriotic Days, scheduled for November 28 and 29, 2025, in Ghana’s Ashanti region.
Following successful domestic journeys from Ouaga to Pô and Ouaga to Bobo-Dioulasso, the CNEP caravan embarked on its international mission to deepen the historical, cultural, and social bonds between Burkina Faso and Ghana. Departing Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on November 27, 2025, the delegation completed its journey, reaching Kumasi on November 28, 2025.
According to Kamanga Mathias Zida, Coordinator of the CPES association, the ambitious Ouagadougou-Tamale-Kumasi route was carefully chosen to amplify patriotic commitment and highlight the crucial role of the Burkinabè diaspora in the triumph of the Révolution progressive populaire (RPP).
Upon their arrival, the delegation received a heartfelt reception from Oumarou Kologo, the Consul General of Burkina Faso in Kumasi, and his dedicated team. The official welcome took place at the distinguished House of Burkina Faso in Kumasi, marking a significant moment of diplomatic camaraderie.
Addressing the visitors, the Consul General emphasized their pivotal role, stating, “Diplomats for a day, diplomats forever. You embody diplomacy today, having traveled from Faso to uphold our national pride; to affirm that Burkina Faso thrives, that Burkina Faso stands resilient.”
Oumarou Kologo conveyed the consulate’s immense pleasure in hosting their counterparts on Ghanaian soil. “We are profoundly pleased to welcome you. We are honored that Kumasi was selected for this visit, which truly dignifies us,” he added, reinforcing the spirit of cooperation.
Echoing the Consul General’s sentiments, Adama Blaise Kiendrébéogo, Delegate of the Burkinabè of Ashanti region to the High Council of Burkinabè Abroad, extended his greetings to the delegation, acknowledging their arrival as “revolutionaries” committed to national progress.
Beyond the formal events of the Kumasi Patriotic Days, the caravan participants have planned various outreach activities. These include the distribution of stickers, t-shirts, and banners proudly displaying images of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, and his Ghanaian counterpart, John Dramani Mahama.
Further community engagement includes the donation of notebooks, also featuring the esteemed presidents, to various schools in Kumasi and Tamale. A significant fundraising effort is also slated to benefit the Patriotic Fund in Burkina Faso, reinforcing the caravan’s commitment to national development and cross-border collaboration.
